Sri. Basavanna, the Regional Officer, Mysore District spoke to the student community about the causes of fire and its prevention. He described the four kinds of fire; Charbonneau, Oil, LPG and Iron and the extent of the hazards caused by these.
He explained the terms segregation and smothering with respect to putting out fires. The firefighters gave a demo on the different techniques and equipment used in putting out a fire.
The students watched the demo with interest and enjoyed the showers splashing from different pipes with glee. The activity proved educative to the students
